I am literally counting down the days until Spring is here. BUT until then I am going to Florida in 17 days so I cannot complain! We are doing a GIRLS trip for my moms 60th and my Aunts 55th birthday! We have planned a Half Marathon, tons of beach walking, shopping, relaxing, and LOTS of girl time! MUCH NEEDED!
Last time I was at the beach I was PREGGO! This time I will have Brooklyn with me!
WOW, so weird to think about her being IN my belly.
This time my sister is pregnant (baby #3) and she will be 36 weeks road trippin' to Florida with the girls.
Now onto HOW to get through the WINTER (blues).
I actually like the start of winter, but once January hits and the holidays are over, I am ready for Spring.
KEY points to help get by:
1. PLAN on being physical in SOME way everyday.
Walk, run, go to a fitness class, go shopping.
There is never an excuse. If the weather is bad you can ALWAYS do an at home workout.
2. Plan coffee dates, game nights, or just a meetup with a friend or a group of people.
GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
3. Find a good book to read throughout winter.
4. EAT HEALTHY.
This is key to feeling good. Make sure you get in those fruits and veggies. I know it is alot harder in the winter due to NOTHING being in season but it is so important to get in that produce. MY main intake in the winter is: Broccoli (staple), Kale, Spinach, Sweet potatoes (in season), frozen berries, bananas.
Aim to get in 1-2 fruits and 3-4 veggies a day. TRUST ME it will help!
Power it up with a Green smoothie if you "don't have time" or are "on the go"
Remember NO EXCUSES!
5. Make healthy choices.
When you are just hanging around the house and feel like MUNCHING the day away, find a craft or something to keep you busy. Pinterest has great ideas for crafts, fun things to do, and ways to keep busy. Have a snack and MOVE ON. KEY is to have a serving of something and then do something else.
My go to night snack is air popped popcorn. I use pam spray and salt (sweeten with a lil sugar) and I am good to go for a healthy night time snack!
I have been ending my nights with some Hot Chocolate and it is my reminder to STOP eating :) Finish with something sweet and then brush your teeth!
What do you find that helps you to get through winter?
Any KEY things?!?! Please let me know :)
Off to the little gym here to do a quick circuit workout and then get my day started! I am thinking Cinnamon Oatmeal Souffle for breakfast when I get back...better get a move on it!

I'm with you in regard to Spring being here. I love the winter, but by the end of January, I'm ready for flowers, light sweaters, flip flops and lots of yummy fruits and veggies that come in season!
